Nike ACG Team Blog : News from the snowbard team

Well the london freeze has come and past and what a weekend it was. The top riders from around the world came to compete in the first UK big air contest since the infamous Board-X and also for their listening pleasure the likes of Cypress Hill and The Enemy headlining.

Rich Permin did a sterling job and finished third showing his usual class and style and massive airs. The title was taken by PK Hunder who double cork 10'd his way through every round stomping like a machine - he is going to kill the X-Games this year.

On the snowboard world cup side Ulrik was representing ACG and Norway and did a sterling job. He was lying in second place after the qualifications where he stomped a perfect back 9 rodeo and a cheeky 1260 (but with a hand drag). Going into the final he was trying the same combo but cleaner if possible, but unfortunately he landed them but just short on the stompage and finished in his highest world cup position so far of 7th.

The rest of the crew had a great time riding and hanging in London, some of them over here for their first time.

At the same time, Mirjam, Mati and Theo were over in Les 2 Alpes for the Mondial du ski. The park was in good condition although these days there is no pipe due to lack of snow. The evenings were as mental as usual with a good time guarantee, the mondial du snowboard was last weekend and again a great success.

Next on the cards for some of the riders is the next inner city big air stop at the King of Style in Stockholm where Rich will endeavour to defend his title.

Finally I did the last shots in the park in mayrhofen.

There were the guys from snowbombing UK - for 1 week – hardcore party

During the day we were filming up in the park and after this we went down, straight to the bar!!!! damn!!

Last week I was in the glacier in Sölden for a freeride ski test, but there was no pow anymore so it was more a party week again. But we found a small spot, for some nice pow turns between the crevasses.

It was really funny, because there were no tourists anymore and in the morning when we went up to the glacier it was every day a crazy race competition with the sponsor cars.

If there will come some snow soon, I will have a shoot for zillertal/tirol publicity, probably with the heli!!! So pray for the last snowfall

But now I will start my Harley Davidson and will go for a ride!! for the chill and grill season

Hi guys!!

Last days were some of the best this winter.

I did some shots with Klaus Polzer from Skiing (the next Level) mag.

And some pics with Marco Toniolo.

 

After this I went to Flaine for the Nissan Freeride Quest, which is the last qualifier for Verbier. I did a really nice line, but I crashed at the last cliff. Damn!

The same happened to Flo Köfer.

So Sverre took one of the last Tickets to Verbier, so hopefully he will kick their asses.

Back in Austria Flo and I did the BM final in Fieberbrunn, I took the 5^th place, Flo took the 1^st place in the category: craziest highest cliff drop!!!! Dude ?!?!

It was an cool event, sponsored by ACG.

Today I was up on the mountain to check out how much snow we got. And we got about 100cm and more, but the problem is, there is no fucking base, so hopefully our plan to make a sweet spot next week will work!!!!!!

Hi Guys

Last week I was invited to film with the Hot Zone dudes in the park in mayrhofen.

It was amazing, to shoot with the crane camera at this big kicker. The skills of Rudi pushed me extremely. I did some crazy stuff which I never tried before and it worked. What an awesome day, crazy!!!!

I was so stoked that I tried a cork 9 on the last day, but it didn’t work, I think ähm yeah!?!??!

Now I´m sitting in my room and look at the footage which we shoot. Sick man!!!!!!!

Hi, my name is Roman Rohrmoser, I´m 21 years old and I´m from the chillervalley (Austria)

I´m the 2^nd  rider from ACG who is qualified for the O´neill Freeride Quest in Flain.

Sverre has already a ticket from the Verbier X-treme from last year.

My buddy Flo Köfer and I qualified at the Rookie Quest in Schruns/Tschaguns.

He took the 3rd place and I finished 5^th at the contest (but at the party team ACG defenitly took the 1^st place).

Thanx and peace out to the police from Schruns for the free ticket which I got from them.

 Yeah, so now I´m sitting in my room and looking at the powder pics from last year.

 Crazy what an awesome winter - This year is pretty poor till now.

 So hopefully next week the winter will come back, or will start finally!?!?!

I did some nice shoots last days with the guys from K2 in Adelboden and Kitzsteinhorn, but only in the park.

Oh. a mistake!?!?Me again.

Hi everybody! My name is Rudi Kröll and I’m from Mayrhofen in the beautiful Zillertal. I’m riding for ACG and Hot-Zone.tv. And I am also riding a lot with the Ästhethikers.
As most season I started riding on the Hintertuxer glacier. There was not a lot of snow left from the summer but the park was in a really good shape and riding was really fun this fall.
I also took some pictures with Christian “Eli” Eberl from the Hot-Zone.tv. One got published in the last Playboard Magazine (#45).

From the 9^th to the 12^th of November I went to the Pleasure Jam at the Dachstein glacier. I like the event because it’s a start in the season and a lot of people are coming there to have a nice weekend with riding and party. It’s also fun to meet all the shred buddies again and ride together. Bernd Mandelberger did a very good job on the kickers and made the best out of the snow conditions. It was fun riding the pro-session on Saturday and after the 2^nd place last year I took the 3^rd overall place this season.

On December 2^nd I invited my Dad to come to the Air & Style and watch my Brother CK competing. In compare to last years they did a good job. The setup was a lot better for both the rider and the spectator. And the riding level was just amazing! I haven’t seen as much upside down tricks in competitions lately as here.

 

On Friday 19^th I’ll go to Laax for the European Open. They moved the slopestyle up to the glacier this year. So I’m curious how it will be. And as long there is no Pow to shred at all, there is nothing wrong to ride a contest. ;)
