Craig Pollock Jacques Villeneuve manager, asked me one day , to put together a team of professional and armature skiers to participate in there annual event of the BCV GP 24hr Ski race. ( www.bcv24h.com) Having only put a pair of skis on for the first time a year prior, the challenge was too great to miss.
We had to put together a team of between 4 and six in the first year and 6 and 8 in the second. Owe knew as a team right from the start that there were two categories that you could win this event. 1. Speed, count us out. 2. Most amount of money to be raised.
We took our challenge to raise the most amount of money. In year 1. We raised 37,000.00 and were pipped to the post by the team Reyal. This year we won with the grand total of 117,000.00chf. All this money will go toward children’s charities around the world. 1. Being the teenage cancer trust, we have enabled to install two units in the hospitals not just one what was what the charity was expecting. We have also managed to keep 250,000.00 children alive in Ethiopia this year, which for me as a parent bring tears to my eyes. With this amount we have been asked to attend a fully paid trip to Canada, where Jacques has his Canadian GP24hr. This event is purely for exposure for us, as we will not be racing as we will be saving ourselves for the Villars spectacular in 2009.
We tried to get he whole community involved with fund raising by giving something back. We produced polo shirts which were sold on the slopes for 35chf.
We have now been given an even bigger challenge, 2009 we have been asked to return to the event but we cannot return unless we can smash the total of 117,000.00. We have become a national favourite in Switzerland; we have had exposure in the UK in the press, also the Swiss newspapers 24heurs.plus on the local radio and television. We are looking for support. All the money raised will go towards the selected children’s charities.

We really would appreciate anything to go towards helping us raise the money for the children, and give even more sick children comfort and support, plus even keep some alive.
