breckenridge
Published on November 27, 2007. 17:35

I am in the states at the moment, we are up in Breckenridge but there isn’t really much snow. I have been here for just over a week and when we arrived there was no snow at all. Since we have been here there has been about 60 cm max fresh snow. It has been cold here and they have been blowing snow. breck still only has a little park so the last few days we have been riding at copper. There is hardly any snow on the runs there but they have a great big, perfect pipe.
I have seen Gary around; he has been boosting some huge airs.
The other day we rode at keystone and that was fun, just jibbing about. I am learning to make movies, I put this together the other day, its a little bit experimental but check it out!
king of style 2007

Well it was a successful weekend over in Stockholm with Rich taking the title of King of Style in front of a world class field including TJ Schiller, Jon Olsson and Simon Dumont.
Rich did not fall all weekend and was putting down all variety of tricks. It was appropriate that Rich won the contest on his final jump, he was second before it with only TJ Schiller to ride after him. Rich put down the smoothest of smooth switch 720 double tail grab (Rich’s own grab - check out his Solden Sweet spot to see it in action) to move into the lead, the spin was so slow that it looked like a 360 and he went super big. TJ then did a 1260 and event though he landed well the judges did not rate it about Rich’s super styley 7…he is truly the king of style!
This continues the great start to Rich’s season following a 4th place in the Frestyle.ch for the second year running. Rich had this to say on his result ‘last year I finished second so it was great to be able to step it up and get my first international title under my belt, the $10,000 is great too’.
The event was a great success and with a big crowd, live TV and perfect conditions it is going to be tough for the organisers to do better next year but we will definitely be there to check it out.
Cheers

BUDS....The British Way
Published on November 15, 2007. 15:25
Last weekend 1,200 students descended upon a grassy hill somewhere in Scotland for 48 hours of skiing, snowboarding, partying and utter mayhem. It was cold, it was windy, it was competitive, it was dendix central…it was BUDS - The British University Dry Slope Championships.
An annual event, it is the largest (and undoubtedly the coldest) dry slope event in the country which sees University Snowsports Clubs go head to head in a variety of disciplines including Slopestyle and Big Air.As head sponsor of BUSC (British University Snowsports Council), Nike ACG were there in force. We hosted the ‘Sweetspots Lounge’ – a place of refuge from the Scottish climate with sofas, beanbags, heaters, TVs screening the Nike ACG sweetspots, and the all important bar – Sweeeeeet!!
Top UK skier and star of Sweetspot #2, Paddy Graham was there to judge the freestyle, as well as use and abuse his rights to the mega phone. And of course we had young gun Murray Buchan and freestyle guru Tom Last holding the flag for Team Nike ACG.
Well done to Tom for scoring 2nd in the Big Air ski and to Muz for winning the overall Pro-Am Big Air with a huge Switch 720 Truckdriver – nice.
A link to the Nike ACG film of the event is on its way….

Mondial du Ski
Published on November 5, 2007. 12:10
Well I am back in the office now after a cracking weekend at the Mondial du Ski. Everyone from teh french scene was there and as per usual a significant amount of drinking was to be done.
As usual the glacier was really busy and this year there was very little snow on it which meant that it was very hard and dangerous, I kept falling over on the ice (I was not sure if that was the hangover or just sheer lack of skill) however I will endeavour to do better next time - drink more and stay on my feet.
A lot of my weekend was spent in Bleuets Bar, a fine establishment, and the first evening involved beer bongs and shots which was a new experience for me but it went down well.
The team performed well with everyone managing to party to at least 3am on one occasion and Roy even rode in the rail demo session on Saturday night. It was a nice set up with lots of lights, no prize money and even less cutting edge skiing. The demo factor made the whole thing pretty repetative however one highlight was Roy's screaming seamen 360 which he didnt manage to finish and took a pretty nasty slam but he came up smiling and returned to killing the rails with style.
At the end of the weekend I can safely say everyone had a good time and there were no injuries which must mean that once again the Nike ACG team had a successful weekend. Heres to beer bongs in 2008!
