Mondial du Ski
Published on November 5, 2007. 12:10
Well I am back in the office now after a cracking weekend at the Mondial du Ski. Everyone from teh french scene was there and as per usual a significant amount of drinking was to be done.
As usual the glacier was really busy and this year there was very little snow on it which meant that it was very hard and dangerous, I kept falling over on the ice (I was not sure if that was the hangover or just sheer lack of skill) however I will endeavour to do better next time - drink more and stay on my feet.
A lot of my weekend was spent in Bleuets Bar, a fine establishment, and the first evening involved beer bongs and shots which was a new experience for me but it went down well.
The team performed well with everyone managing to party to at least 3am on one occasion and Roy even rode in the rail demo session on Saturday night. It was a nice set up with lots of lights, no prize money and even less cutting edge skiing. The demo factor made the whole thing pretty repetative however one highlight was Roy's screaming seamen 360 which he didnt manage to finish and took a pretty nasty slam but he came up smiling and returned to killing the rails with style.
At the end of the weekend I can safely say everyone had a good time and there were no injuries which must mean that once again the Nike ACG team had a successful weekend. Heres to beer bongs in 2008!

Hi, I'm not a skier but it's great to see how you get all that excitement across with Nike's websites. I want to great a similar enthusiasm about rock-climbing for my uni project. I am designing a website that will have an interactive map of climbs in the UK. Is it possible that you could email me a contact? After uni, I wish to work with advertisers such as Nike, as I love the work they produce.
