This is my second time trying to write this report as the first one deleted itself and that always gets me down so it has taken me a while to work up the enthusiasm to do it again but luckily for everyone I am now ready...whew I hear you say I really needed to read that report.
So how did it go, well all in all the Freestyle.ch was once again a fantastic start to the season, the sun was out, the course and event village was sick and everyone was there so it was good to see a load of faces again after the summer.
The qualis were on Friday and roy and Paddy were representing. Infortunately neither of them got through even though they were throwing down some good style and moves but it was the first time in the event for both of them so hopefully they will be back next year and really kill it.
On Saturday the big names started riding with the who's who of skiing including Andreas and Rich. andreas stuck some perfect 12's in training along with super stylish flat spins and rich was throwing all sorts of tail grab style as per usual. Once again Andreas was to be thwarted in getting to the final by not quite sticking it in the heats which was unbelievable after the training runs but Rich made it through on his last jump which was a perfect big 9 mute.
This also meant that Rich qualified for the cross-over session on sat night which is live on TV and in front of 30,000 people - a great experience - but unfortunately Rich couldnt quite take it over the superman double front flip which Dumont was pulling out of the bag - especially when the crowd are the judge, who wouldnt scream for that.
On Sunday was the finals and Rich put his shit down and finished 4th for the second year running which was a great effort.
A good weekend was had by all including myself and Knipey even though we didnt quite make the parties, maybe next year.
cheers
