Rudi's NZ Open event report
Published on August 14, 2007. 14:20
Yesterday was the semi final and again the wind was pretty strong from begining of the morning. Didn't ride the 1 hour training for everyone, just the 30 min training before the semi-finals. Wind blew me away already on my first bs 180 over the big jump. So i had 2 training runs and went straight into the first run. I had a really good first run like Tailslide on the curved box, Boardslide to fakie on the higher straight rail, cab 9, fs9 and switch Boardslide to frontside boardslide on the A-frame. No hands down no reverts. Feelt like a really good run to me.
Second run i did bs rodeo 5 to sw bs 7 but the wind catched me in the air so i had to open up but still landid it. So i got 8th in the Semifinal which they took at the final result due to very heavy winds. I felt more like being 4th or 5th but overall i guess 8th is not to bad either. Too bad the pricemoney split just went to 6th place.
Afterall iam pretty stoked because i showed some really serious performance here in Snowpark on the NZ Open 07. I'm placed 31st now in the TTR Ranking list.
Today we are just hanging out because its raining since 24h straight and even whole wanaka was out of power from 3 in the morning till 1 pm.
I hurt my left ankle a little bit at the shitty trainingsrun from qualifiying where i also broke the strap of my binding. So its gonna be easy for a few days now. Maybe it dumps a little bit up there and we can have some mellow 15 cm pow turns up there.
So greetings out of wanaka to everybody.
Eeoohhhhh
Rudi
