Canada

Day 1:

Hey everyone.

I am now in Canada at a secret location trying to get some pow this year with Flo. We didn’t get our bags and the weather-gods hasn’t been too nice to us. It’s been raining and now it’s cold with 7 cm snow on top. Everything looks very good, but the view lies. We are a little frustrated, but we have an amazing crew that knows the mountain, so we will get something done…I hope.

Day 2:

Today has been one of the best days of my life. We went up pretty early and I hiked up to a top when Flo hit a jump he built the day before. He landed some tricks and then I did my line. I fell, but it was a good experience. Then I hit the jump and Flo hiked up to another line. He lost his board (haha) and we both went up and did a line. Then we looked for a location to build a jump. Nothing really perfect, but we did some close up powder turns and got to know the mountain. Now I’m so tired and we are waiting for the dinner to get ready. If every day is like this, the winter only have to be one week to make a video-part.

Day 3:

It's dumping. It's 10.30 and we are going up to see if we can find something in the trees. The light is not good, but we will try.

Back from the hill. It was amazing. I never had pow in Japan, but I guess this was pretty close. It was snowing so hard that the cameras stopped working. I hope they are ok. The rest of the day we were just shredding the forest.

Perfect day.

Day 4:

Today it is raining. We could not go up because of avalanche-danger, so we did some jibs, went skating and watched some surf-movies. I was an ok day and I think we needed a day of. But we are getting shots every day and with only one day with some sun and the snow not cooperating well, we are doing very good. You can not fight nature, so we are crossing our fingers and hoping for better days.

Day 5:

The skate-session was sick. Today we had wet sticky snow, some showers and a little bit of sun. It was almost impossible to ride the “fresh” snow and so slow, but we manage to build a corner-jump and landed some tricks. The only reason it worked was because the landing was higher than the takeoff and we didn’t have any speed when we landed. Our bags are still not here and now British-Airways don’t even know where they are. Sh** happens, but it’s the 5th time this year. We just have to hope for sun and that it’s still pow in the high alpine.

We got a little bit of riding before we left for comp in Austria where I got injured. S*** happens. I'll be back in a week or so.
